Finding someone trustworthy that will do a good job with grooming your beloved canine babies is really important. Thank goodness that just a few minutes from our farm, we have Manitoulin Island’s Friendly Groomer.
I have been meaning to post this months ago. In our Life on Manitoulin Facebook group, people often ask where they can find a dog groomer on the island. I want to introduce you to The Friendly Groomer.

Our dogs HATE having their feet touched and it usually takes either John and me or the kid and me to clip their nails. One of us has to go on the floor and distract them by rubbing their bellies or giving them treats while the other person quickly clips their nails! It is quite the production. Well, the dog groomer said that the dogs had no issues having their nails clipped. Just like kids, they behave better when Mama is not around!
The dogs look SO good and smell amazing! Bubblegum had quite the patchy coat (she has been shedding) and despite us brushing her regularly, she was still shedding like crazy.
Why take the fur babies to the groomer?
1. The groomer is professional and knows how to groom the dogs.
2. The groomer is excellent with dealing with the pups. One of our dogs is anxious and doesn’t like water, but the groomer calmed her down.
3. Using correct brushes for coat type removes damaged and dead hair, allowing new growth for a healthy coat.
4. Careful brushing distributes the dog’s natural oils and gets rid of dead skin.
5. Handling during grooming allows early detection of lumps, bumps, and skin irritations.
Why choose Manitoulin Island’s Friendly Groomer?
Dog parents don’t just entrust their fur babies to just anyone. They want to make sure their fur babies are in the best hands. I have to say that Christian Lauder (aka The Friendly Groomer) is one of the best dog groomers. He really does live up to his name as Manitoulin Island’s Friendly Groomer.
Most of my friends have their dogs groomed by Christian. I’ve seen him with the dogs and he has the magic touch with the canine babies. Christian is great with the dogs, and is skilled at dog grooming. Even dogs who don’t like their paws touched let Christian touch their paws when he bathes and grooms them.
Your beloved pup will look and feel like a brand new pup when they leave The Friendly Groomer’s.
