Are you dreaming of a getaway that you will never forget? Ten Mile Point Accommodations on Manitoulin Island is your home away from home when visiting Manitoulin Island. With all the comforts of home and the convenience of being close to town, this location is perfect for your home base when staying on the island.
Disclaimer – We were given the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful space. All thoughts and opinions expressed on this blog are honest and my own.

Upon entering the cottage, we were struck by the beauty of the craftsmanship put into creating this minimalist space. You can’t help but feel good when in such a beautiful space. The high ceilings, warm, neutral tones, and all the little details like the accent pillows and throws/blankets just added to the experience. It felt like luxury but with a minimalist theme, if that makes any sense?
Yes, we live on Manitoulin Island, but it’s a welcomed treat to be able to escape from our daily lives every once in a while. Plus, how could I properly endorse or recommend a place or business if I haven’t had the opportunity to experience it? Plus, as a busy farming family, we relish any time we get to spend together as a family (that doesn’t involve having to do farm chores).
We were able to escape for a weekend and stay in the Sandhill House for a weekend. The Sandhill House is beautiful, spacious, comfortable, modern, and bright. The view overlooking the La Cloche Mountains and the Georgian Bay is absolutely priceless.
I was in awe of the gorgeous kitchen and how it had everything we needed for our stay. This said, it was my birthday weekend, and since I do 99% of the cooking at home, it was my birthday wish to not have to do any cooking or cleaning on my birthday weekend. Thankfully, the Sandhill House was a quick drive (15 minutes max) to Little Current and my husband and daughter were able to go to town to order food for us. We felt spoiled having a variety of wonderful local restaurants to choose from! In Little Current, you can find The Island Jar, Elliott’s, The Anchor Inn, 3 Cows and a Cone, Loco Beanz, and more. For those looking for the familiarity and convenience of Tim Hortons, you can find that in Little Current now too.
Owners, Laura and Blair Hagman have put great detail in ensuring that everything is perfect for their guests’ stay.

The extra special touches made the experience of staying at the Sandhill House unforgettable.

If asked what my favourite thing about the Sandill House is, I would have a difficult time pinpointing one thing. For starters, I love all the natural light from the big windows. We were able to view the most spectacular sunrises and admire the view of the water during the day. At night, we marveled at the stars and the night sky. There’s even a telescope in the Sandhill House that you can view the stars with
Our daughter commented on how she never wanted to leave the Sandhill House and that she wanted to live there. The funny thing is that we would catch her taking the broom and sweeping after meals. We laughed because that is not something she does at home!

I’m not going to lie. Two of the first things that I take note of when staying at a cottage, resort, motel, or hotel are the comfort of the beds and the state of the bathroom and shower. I’m a bit fussy when it comes to those things, and I am happy to say that we were all impressed. The shower itself was spacious and the bathroom was very roomy. The beds were very comfortable.
Our weekend stay at the Sandhill House was complete bliss. I had not felt so relaxed and rested in a long time.

Options for Ten Mile Point accommodations include:
