I’m always on the look-out for family-friendly slow cooker recipes. I use my slow cooker all year-round, but I do have to say that I use it more in Fall and Winter!
If you’re like me and trying to balance work, kids, home, spouse/partner and still need to get dinner on the table in between rushing from activities and sports after school, you probably need to have a repertoire of quick, easy, healthy meals your family will love. To be honest, my slow cooker has saved me on numerous accounts!
One of my favourite soups is Split Pea Soup. I grew up on Habitant Soup, so the aroma, the texture, the flavour of Split Pea Soup just transports me back to my childhood. I have a Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup that I like to make. There are never any leftovers when I make this.

One of our family favourite soups is French Onion Soup. My kid loves onions so much that she will swipe some raw chopped onions as I’m chopping them while preparing supper! She loves raw onions that much! She loves sauteed onions, onion rings, roasted onions…She just loves onions!

Years ago, when we were at a Chinese restaurant in New York City with my family, my husband had a dish that had duck and Hoisin sauce. Ever since that day, my husband (and daughter) have had a thing for Hoisin sauce. They love that stuff!
