Colour your hair to conquer cancer? You may have seen the posts on social media, but if you haven’t, I’d like to tell you more about this initiative.

Many of us (if not, most of us) have been affected by cancer in some way. Perhaps you have had cancer or someone close to you has had cancer. The striking news is that nearly 1 in 2 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer.
Donating toward cancer research and raising funds for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation is very near to my heart since my aunt died from ovarian cancer, quite a few of my loved ones (friends, family, colleagues, community members) have had breast cancer, and my father-in-law had prostate cancer.
May is #GetYourColourOn Month!
Get Your Colour On and Support Cancer Research!
This May, Colour Your Hair to Conquer Cancer. A bold and engaging new fundraising program challenges Canadians to colour their hair and raise funds to help Canada Conquer Cancer In Our Lifetime.
As I mentioned before, nearly 1 in 2 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer. That is a staggering and frightening statistic. In this inaugural year of Colour Your Hair to Conquer Cancer we are reminded why we take on bold, and in this case fun challenges, and fundraise to support cancer research at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. The funds you raise or the donation you make will be supporting The Princess Margaret, one of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world. The Princess Margaret is transforming cancer care for Canadians thanks to advances in technology and new innovative therapies, fueled by the innovation of our cancer experts, and the generosity of our community.

There are many different ways to Get Your Colour On. Get your hair coloured with teammates or just do it solo. You can colour your entire head of hair, do just a few streaks, or choose an under-colour. You can even colour your beard. If you have always wanted to go blonde, here’s your chance and it’s for a good cause too! Choose your colour and commit! Or let your friends help you raise funds and choose your favourite shade!
Funds raised will support Princess Margaret, one of the top 5 research centres in the world.
