What this mom wants for Mother’s Day is actually really simple.

I could say that I would like breakfast in bed, but I actually do not like the idea of eating in bed and getting crumbs under the covers. I know I’m weird, but I’m one of those meals should be eaten at the table kind of moms.
I could say that I would like all my chores to be done for me for the day. That would be nice, but then I would probably end up helping the family do the chores anyway.
What This Mom Wants For Mother’s Day
What this mom wants for Mother’s Day is not dinner at a fancy restaurant (or any restaurant at all), but just one hour to myself. One hour of peace and quiet so I can recharge my batteries would be blissful. Perhaps a home spa treatment would be nice. I imagine one hour so I can have a face mask, foot scrub, a hot tea, and a book to read. That’s what I want!
Some items to help make the perfect at home spa day are a lavender comfort wrap, water bottle (to help make sure you’re keeping hydrated), comfy Just Chill slippers ($29.95), and a book! The Crafters & Co. Lavender Scented Comfort Wrap is $39.95. You can find all of these items here.
My mother-in-law would love these pop up cards. They are so pretty. These WONDERFOLDS 3-D cards really do take your love to a whole new dimension. There’s also a mini card so you can write your own special message!
My Little One is obsessed with stuffies and because she loves stuffies, she assumes everyone loves stuffies. She often gives me stuffies on special occasions. This Snoopy plushie is adorable and reminds me of Spring with its colours and cheerful pattern. The floral print floppy Snoopy stuffed animal is $12.95 and the Happy Go Luckys – Springtime are $12.95.
Okay, every time I come across a stuffy in my home office or around the house, it reminds me of Little One and makes me smile.
There are other gift items for Mom at Hallmark Canada. If your mom is a gardener, a cook, or your superhero, you can find a gift that is perfect for her. There are lots of items that help show Mom you love her since there are so many thoughtful and practical items.
Marjolein Bastin and Hallmark have teamed up to bring a whimsical collection of nature-inspired items. I love the napkin rings ($24.95), tea towel ($9.95), and butterfly, bird & floral accessory bag $16.95).
I’m also a gardener, and think that my fellow gardeners would love the garden bag. It’s $34.95 and will help keep all your gardening supplies together in one place. Keep your garden tools, seeds, gloves, hat, and everything else organized in this beautiful gardening bag.
My Little One is big into giving cards for special occasions. We always likes to get Mother’s Day cards for both of her grandmothers as well as for me. Hallmark Canada has an impressive range of cards.
Other ideas for Mother’s Day gifts are these beautiful Mark & Hall floral scarves (choose between pink or blue). Special price $9.95. Regularly $14.95 each. The Mark & Hall Colorblock Totes are also great gifts. They are canvas with an interior zip pocket. Regular price: $24.95. Special price: $14.95 each.

Life on Manitoulin and Hallmark Canada would like to help make one lucky mom’s day by giving away a floral Mark & Hall scarf. Giveaway open to residents of Canada only (excluding the province of Quebec). Giveaway ends May 13, 2018.
The most special thing was the hand print key chain. It’s plastic and my son’s teacher put it in the oven to shrink it. It’s so cool.
The most special gift I received as a mom was a handpainted macaroni necklace from my oldest the first year he was in school. It was the first gift from him that he had given me without me knowing anything about it and he was so proud of it. I tucked it away years ago but will be pulling it out later this month because he is graduating from high school this year and I’m gonna wear it to his graduation and see if he remembers it.
I would love to gift a cute mug! Thanks
My best Mother’s Day gifts have been the beautiful things that my children have made me at school…so thoughtful and I’ve kept each and everyone. Happy Mother’s Day to all you Mommies. 🙂
My mom had always wanted a tattoo so at 65 I got her that for Mother’s Day a few years ago. We got matching ones on our ankles! Very special for us…
Well what stands out the most is when momma cat (my daughters cat) decided that my bedroom in the basement was the place to have her kittens…we still have most of the cats (one went to my sis) sooo they will be here to celebrate with us
My sister and I gave my mom a photo bracelet – that was incredibly special to her
My hubby surprised me one Mother’s Day with framed photo sets of each of our kids as well as of him and them for me to display in my office. This was an out-of-character act for him so it was one of the sweetest gifts that I could ever have received.
I gave my mom tickets to a symphony concert that she loved.
The best gift I ever gave my mom was a cross that belonged to her mother.
I take my mom out for brunch!
being told I was going to be a grandma.
Cards made by my children. I kept all of them.
The most special gift that I gave my Mother was making her two dresses when I bought my First Singer Sewing Machine many years ago. I worried about every stitch. They turned out really well and she was delighted. And so was I. (Whew!)
The most memorable gift I received was a portrait painting made by my kids collectively. It was very artistic and sweet of them to think of making something special and one of a kind.
flowers and a home made card
It would be a gift the kids made for me, that included their hand prints.
I used to draw on every lunch napkin I put in my daughters lunch. It was usually a small cartoon from a book we’d read or something I knew she’d like. Unbeknownst to me she’d kept them all stuffed away in her grade 1 school desk. She finally brought them home and she and my husband put together a piece of artwork containing a few of these napkins along with a beautiful photo of her. It was a really touching Mother’s Day gift and one that lets me remember when she was a little girl going to school carrying a lunch bag.
My Husband has a BBQ with family over which is always nice.
The gift I would give my Mom was a Mother’s Day card with me writing in it how much she meant to me. I was very close to her.
The most special thing is something personal and unique!
I took my mom on a trip, she was very excited and had a really good time.
I loved receiving a print of my baby’s foot for my first Mother’s Day! So sweet.
The flowers and vase my son made all by hand and out of paper , those are the best gifts
I loved when my daughter brought home projects she made at school for Mother’s Day — now I just get a nice card. But the homemade stuff was the best!
My Mother is a great inspiration to all 5 of us, she is tougher than any of us as she battles the shutting down of her kidneys at this very moment. Hugs to all the great Mother’s out there
I gave my mom a mani-pedi by a lifelong friend before her cruise. She hates people touching her, but trusted my friend. Now she’s addicted. This year for mother’s day I hired a photographer to come take family photos as it will be my first mother’s day with our rainbow baby and my parents third grandchild.
The most special gift you have ever given your to your mom is my love & time.
My heart melted the first time my daughter brought me a gift from school. It was a flower that we could grow together 🙂 thanks!
I won a Nile cruise in 1992 and gave it to my parents for their 40th wedding anniversary. I don’t think much tops that one :0
I always gift my mom potted plants so she can keep them alive. Beautiful items! Great contest thanks
A homemade card is always my favourite and a hug….okay many hugs..
The best gift I ever received is my kids! I would hope that the best gift I gave my mom is grandkids. You don’t need one day a year to show how much she is loved and appreciated. On that note, We usually don’t celebrate Mother’s day as it is my anniversary so, we usually focus on the anniversary more than Mother’s Day.
I love when I am given something handmade – even if it is only a card. The words inside the card are a true gift if they come from the heart!
Mmmkay now I know where I’ll be getting my mother’s day gift this year! Thank you! My favourite Mother’s day gift to my mom is a day trip to a cute little nearby town where we would do window shopping and I’d buy her her favourite coffee at Starbucks. Time is always the most precious gift. ❤
