Disclosure: I am a Netflix Stream Team member. All thoughts and opinions expressed on this blog are my own.
I like to think that in my house, I’m a pro when it comes to the art of persuasion. I can usually convince my kid that she wants to live in a clean bedroom, so she should keep it clean. That doesn’t always work, but usually it does. I also manage to get my family to see that it is important to eat a healthy, balanced diet with lots of veggies.
Persuasion really is a beautiful thing.
When I discover a show or movie on Netflix, I want to share it with others in my home. Even when my husband doesn’t think it’s a genre he would enjoy, I almost always manage to convince him otherwise. The art of (Netflix) persuasion works both ways too. Hubby has managed to pull me into whatever he is watching on Netflix too.
The Art of (Netflix) Persuasion
It seems everyone in the house has their favourite titles to watch on Netflix. Hubby favourites include documentaries, sci-fi, and action.
Little One is 8 years old, and her favourites include tween shows, family TV, and documentaries.
My favourite types of shows and movies are mainly comedies, romance, cooking shows, drama, and documentaries.
It’s actually not too difficult to persuade members of the family to watch what I want to watch (or vice versa). There are so many interesting documentaries, movies, and shows to watch on Netflix!
How to Persuade your Family to Watch what you Want them to Watch

Using your persuasion skills is not that difficult. Follow these steps:
- Talk about what you’re currently streaming on Netflix. Talk about it often. The more your family hears about the awesome show you are binge-watching, the more curious they may be and want to check it out.
- Have a trailer of your favourite show playing on your computer or smart TV. That may pique your family’s curiosity!
- During dinner, talk about everyone’s favourite Netflix titles. If you’re watching a series, keep talking about what’s happening in the episodes, and maybe your family may want to watch with you.
