It’s always fun to learn about new activities, places to visit, things to do, and places to eat in Northern Ontario. If you haven’t tapped into all the hidden treasures the North has to offer, now is a great time to start!
Outdoor enthusiasts will be aware of the pristine lakes for fishing, boating, and swimming in Northern Ontario, and many know about the hiking trails and Winter activities to be enjoyed in this part of the country. However, there are many other activities and places to visit that will capture your attention and perhaps even teach you a thing or two. Parents are always on the look out for activities for their kids. One great place to start is Science North.
Did you know about Science North camps for kids?
We only recently learned that Science North offers different Science North camps and programs for children. They have day programs, two-day programs, week-long programs, etc. March Break, PA Days, After-School, Summer Camps, etc. They have programs in both French and English as well!
March Break Camp
Like many parents, figuring out what to do with the kids during March Break can sometimes be a challenge. If you live in Northern Ontario, Science North has March Break camps! Parents can keep kids excited about science by signing them up for an action-packed week of experiments, activities, and learning.
PA Day Program
Wondering what to do with the kids on a PA Day? Science North and Dynamic Earth will give your child a one of a kind experience.
Little One spent the day at Science North on a recent PA Day. The theme was Chemical Concoctions, and she had a blast! In fact, she said she wishes she lived closer to Science North, because she’d like to be there every day.
The children were able to dive into the world of chemistry with everyday items that can be found both in and out of the house. Little One said it was so much fun and she even made some new friends.

As a parent, I have to say that the program is very well organized and very well run. Transitioning from activity to activity was seamless, the activities were spaced out well and each activity was just the right amount of time to engage the children and keep them very interested. The breaks and lunchtime were also timed well for kids in Little One’s age group.
Here’s what Little One thinks of Science North’s PA Day program:
After School Science Kids Program
When Little One was participating in the PA Day program, she discovered that there were kids who were regulars to Science North. We were interested to learn that some of the children go to Science North every day for their After School Science Kids Program.
This is when Little One mentioned how she wanted to live closer to Science North! She said she would love to be able to enjoy hands-on science activities there every day!
