It’s been a crazy few weeks over here, and it’s time to bring home happy!
We would first like to disclose that this post has been written in Christine’s words, but since she is still unable to have any screen time until she recovers from her concussion, a few of us have volunteered to type for her and read to her. She’s been naughty and has tried to check a few emails, and that set her back a few days for recovery. Please leave comments and hellos, as Christine would love to hear from you. Please note that since she can’t have screen time yet, she won’t be able to reply. We will try to reply when we can though. Hope she recovers soon! (Anita & Tanya)
Time to Bring Home Happy with Trolls, the movie!
2017 started off on a bit of a shocking note with lots of sadness, family health issues, and the usual challenges that come with farming in the Winter. It’s been tough on Little One having her Mommy unable to do all the things she used to do before her accident. Trolls on DVD and Blu-Ray couldn’t have come at a better time! The much anticipated release of Trolls on DVD and Blu-Ray was on February 7th! Little One got to bring home happy with Trolls!
Trolls is now one of Little One’s favourite movies! Can you blame her? The music will get you singing and dancing too!
Although I couldn’t watch the movie with Little One (no screen time permitted), I was able to listen to the movie as she watched. I have to say that Trolls yet another win for DreamWorks Animation! Hilarious, smart, and an all around feel-good movie.
About the film
This hilarious film transports audiences to a colorful, wondrous world populated by the overly optimistic Trolls, who have a constant dance in their step and a song on their lips, and the comically pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have trolls in their stomachs.
After the Bergens invade Troll Village, Poppy (Kendrick), the happiest Troll ever born, and the overly-cautious curmudgeonly Branch (Timberlake) set off on a journey to rescue her friends. Together, this mismatched duo embarks on a rescue mission full of adventure and mishaps – trying to tolerate each other long enough to get the job done.
Utilizing music to further the film’s narrative, the Trolls soundtrack is produced by Justin Timberlake and features five original songs including songs by Justin Timberlake, Ariana Grande, Anna Kendrick and Gwen Stefani, in addition to a number of classic hits from the ‘60s through the ‘80s. http://www.dreamworks.com/trolls/movie
Trolls Party
Little One desperately wanted to have a Happy Trollstice Party, but we only received her trolls package midweek and I wasn’t able to go all out like I normally do. She did have a blast though! This said, I’m going to have to go all out and have a Troll day with her just so I can do all the things I envisioned doing (like making rainbow troll cupcakes and playing some fun troll-inspired games). Since I’ve been recovering from my fall, Little One took it upon herself to bring home happy!
Check out all the fun troll-inspired party ideas Little One pinned on Pinterest!
Admittedly, I feel both proud and a bit sad that Little One threw her own Trolls party for herself. I was proud that she baked cookies on her own and made treats and troll juice (which was actually berry tea)! I was sad that she had to do it on her own.
There were lots and lots (and lots!) of trolls crafts!
Here are just a few of Little One’s favourite scenes and songs from the movie!
Little One’s been singing this song every day since she first heard it:
Has your family seen Trolls yet? Let us know what you thought of the movie. Who was your child’s favourite character?
Disclosure – This post is brought to you by DreamWorks Animation to celebrate the Trolls Party Edition Blu-ray Release. All thoughts and opinions on this blog are honest and my own. (Please note that blog posts will be posted by Anita, Tanya, and Farmer John until Christine returns after recovery)
Hi Christine,
I’m so sorry to hear about your concussion. I know how disruptive and frustrating it must be to deal with setbacks during your recovery. I’ve been helping my sister with her recovery for some time.
I’m sending positive vibes for your speedy recovery. Big hugs.

This show looks like it’d be enjoyable for adults as well. I love kids movies these days. So much better quality!

What a fun and colorful post! My grandkids wanted me to take them to see Trolls when it was in theatres but we never had the chance. Thanks for letting me know it’s now available on DVD! Going to buy it so we can watch it with the grandkids!
