Favourite Netflix Titles: When You Realize You’re Hooked! #StreamTeam

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been looking at my Netflix viewing history and realized that there are several shows that I seem to be hooked on!  This made me think of why I became obsessed with those shows, and at what point did I realize that I just had to keep watching until the end of the season.

I’m a little bit of a trivia nut and enjoy stats, infographics, and all things that can help me win at a game of Trivial Pursuit.  I’m not even kidding.

I am also interested in things like why we like the shows we do, and at what point in a series does one realize that they absolutely must binge watch the rest of the series.

Some of the shows I have binge watched on Netflix are:

• Orange is the New Black
• Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
• The Walking Dead
• Call the Midwife
• Wentworth
• The Mindy Project
• Downton Abbey
• Fuller House
• Drop Dead Diva
• The Killing
• Stranger Things

Some shows took me a few episodes to really get into the series, while others I knew I was hooked right away.  For example, it was episode 3 for The Walking Dead, episode 2 for The Mindy Project, episode 2 for Drop Dead Diva, episode 2 for Stranger Things, while The Killing and Orange is the New Black has my full attention in episode 1.

Today, Netflix released the latest set of hooked episodes (the key episode that kept 70% of viewers watching until the end of the first season) of some of the most popular series on the service. In doing so, they discovered viewing behavior – and fandom – is quite universal.

How interesting is that?!

The hooked episode for Canadian users was the same as the global hooked episode for a number of series including The Fall (Ep. 2), Grey’s Anatomy(Ep. 2), Love (Ep. 3), Making a Murderer (Ep. 4), Marvel’s Jessica Jones (Ep. 4) and Narcos (Ep. 3). However, there were some shows that Canucks caught on too before the rest of the world such as Gilmore Girls (Canadian Hooked episode was 5, the Global Hooked episode of 7) and The Good Wife(Canadian Hooked episode was 5, the Global Hooked episode of 6).

What are some shows on Netflix that you’re hooked on?  At what point/which episode did you realize you just had to keep watching until the end of the season?
