Dance Academy – Brief synopsis and review by 7 year old Little One.
Ever since Little One was teeny tiny, she has always had a love reserved especially for dance.
When she was in Junior Kindergarten, I enrolled her in dance at Maja’s Classical School of Dance, and she loved it! The only problem was that as work commitments and the farm became more demanding, coupled with other activities, and with me traveling off-Island for work so much, I wasn’t able to bring Little One to ballet in her second year. I felt badly, because I know that she loved it. I just didn’t want to commit to anything that I knew I couldn’t dedicate the time for. In hindsight, it sounds terrible and it sounds like I wasn’t as dedicated to dance as my little one was. The truth is, I was becoming one seriously worn out Mama who was burning the candle at both ends.
Little One was upset, because she really enjoyed ballet and her dance teacher. She took a year off ballet, and then we found out that some of her friends were taking jazz/ballet at a dance studio closer to our farm. Little One was excited because though she loves ballet, she is also interested in other styles of dance like jazz and hip hop.
Why all this talk of dance?
It explains a lot about why Little One’s favourite Netflix show is Dance Academy.
Here’s Little One’s little review of the Australian show.
Check out why Dance Academy is Little One’s favourite show at the moment.
Do you have a dancer in your house? If yes, then you definitely have to check out Dance Academy on Netflix!

She’s adorable! Great review!
I have a grandson who starts dancing whenever he hears music so I’m sure he’d love this show! Right now, he loves So You Think You Can Dance with the kids!
She is just so cute! 🙂 I have a little one who loves ballet too… I need to get her involved again! :/
Adorable! I love that she likes to do these reviews, my boys always want to, I pull the camera and out and they’re like “No.”
I have not seen this show at all. I think my tween might enjoy it so thanks for the recommendation. It’s good to find a new series every now and then, especially leading into the summer months. My DD, 12, tends to twitch on a series and stay stuck there watching every episode over and over. You know what she’s waiting on intently though? Fuller House second season. She would be over the moon if that was out soon.
Paula, ohhhh we love Fuller House too! That’s another one of Little One’s favourites! She has really been into the Australian shows lately too. Mako Mermaids, H2O, and of course, Dance Academy. The Aussies have really good TV shows! I remember when I was a kid/tween/teen, I used to watch a show called Home and Away.
Oh my word. Is she ever cute!
Ahhh! Thanks, Janie! xo
So very cute – love her saying “our blog is…” 😀
My little ones have just started dancing, it is so fun.
Have not watched this show yet but will check it out.
Haha! I know, right? I had a giggle when she said, “OUR blog is…” So funny!
Looks like a fun show. She is adorable btw! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thanks, Angela! She is too funny! She has been wanting to do a YouTube video for ages. She begged me to let her do a Netflix review. Haha!
What an entertaining review!! And what? There’s going to be a movie? Hope it comes to Netflix!! 🙂
Have you watched MC2, Little One? My kiddos love the teenage spies!
Hehe! She makes me laugh. She said she hopes people watch and like her video and that it any of the actors in Dance Academy leave her a comment, she will be so excited. Dena Kaplan (who plays Abigail on the show) favourited one of my earlier tweets and that totally made Little One’s day! LOL!
Little One also loves MC2!!!
