Who decides what to watch on Netflix in your house?
When I was a kid, my brothers and I used to fight over what to watch on TV. My brothers wanted to watch Transformers or WWF and I wanted to watch Full House, Who’s the Boss? or Growing Pains. There were times, however, that we would all agree on shows to watch. We would watch ALF together and a few other shows. Those were good times. I’m sure our parents were thankful for the times that we agreed on what TV show to watch…especially since we only had one TV back then!
Little One may never know what it’s like to fight with siblings over what show to watch on Netflix. It saddens me to think that she will likely never get to experience the arguing over who has control over the remote or the making concessions and agreeing to watching whatever siblings want to watch (under the condition that she’d get to watch what she wanted the next time). Granted, back in the day, we didn’t have remote controls and had to get up and walk to the TV to change the channel!
I try not to dwell on all the things Little One may miss out by not having siblings. I focus on all the amazing opportunities she has and the attention she gets. She is very close to her cousins and has lots of friends with whom she spends time with, that it’s almost as though she has a dozen siblings! I know it’s not the same, but it’s the closest thing she’s got.
Though Little One has no siblings, there are still squabbles over who decides what to watch on Netflix in this house! In our house, we each have our own Netflix profiles and interests and titles that we like to watch. Hubby likes documentaries, action, suspense and dramas. I like documentaries, romantic comedies, and drama. Little One enjoys animated movies, and shows like Fuller House, Mako Mermaids, and iCarly.
I often hear Little One and Hubby bickering over who gets to watch their show on Netflix.
Here’s a great solution for what to watch on Netflix!
Getting everyone in the family to agree on what to watch on Netflix can be a challenge. Who decides on what to watch on Netflix in your house? Easy. This fortune teller does!
- Pick a colour on the top four flaps and spell out the letters (e.g. B-L-U-E) while alternating a pinching and pulling motion with the teller to reveal a set of four numbers.
- Pick a number and move the fortune teller the corresponding number of times, revealing a second set of four numbers.
- Choose a genre and open the flap to reveal what’s up next on Netflix!
Here’s a blank template here for your family to create their own Netflix fortune teller. This is a fun way to decide what to watch!
