Without a doubt, Halloween is one of my favourite days of the year. I just love all the creative and fun Halloween decorating ideas out there and I love all the excitement felt by kids big and small. It really is a magical, spooktacular time of the year!
When I say that Halloween is one of my favourite days of the year, I’m not kidding. I love getting in the “spirit” from Halloween-themed school lunches, Halloween-themed party food, and right down to the decorations!
Hallmark Canada has some great Halloween decorating items this season!
To get into the Halloween spirit, here are a few Halloween items from Hallmark Canada that I really like!
Some festive pumpkins, gourds, and a cute Trick or Treat sign at the front entrance is a great way to get into the Halloween mood and greet your guests!
I’ve got to say that I really like this Jack-o-Lantern Wire Basket (above photo)! The Jack-o-Lantern Wire Basket is spooky yet elegant. It adds a certain charm to one’s “haunted mansion”! ($12.95 special value, $19.95 regular price)
I contemplated on what I wanted to put in the basket. Do we use it for storing Halloween treats? Do we use it for strictly ornamental use? I decided to put oranges in the basket as the contrast between the colours were really Halloween-y!
I asked my six year old if we should hand out oranges for Halloween. We don’t indulge in many sweets regularly, and Little One stated that point to me. She also told me, “I think it would be scarier for Trick-or-Treaters if you gave them fruit for Halloween. Maybe YOU should be scared of what they’ll do!”
Hmmm.
Little One really loves itty bittys. I thought at six years of age, she’d have outgrown her love of soft, plush little stuffies. Boy, was I ever wrong. She loves collecting itty bittys and these Halloween ones are no exception. These ones are Scooby Doo and Shaggy! ($6.95 each)
You can decorate your house with the itty bittys or if you have any tiny trick or treaters who cannot partake in confectionery treats, why not give them an itty bitty? So adorable and sweet…without the sugar. It’s just a thought. I won’t lie and say I don’t sort through Little One’s Halloween stash and take all the chocolate. Nope.
Drop ‘n’ Greet Bernie the Bat is Little One’s absolute favourite this season! You can hang him from the wall and as people walk by his motion sensor, he surprises them by dropping down and saying 1 of 10 phrases then flies back up again to wait for the next little goblin to pass by! I happen to have been startled at Drop ‘n’ Greet Bernie the Bat on more than one occasion! I keep forgetting about his motion sensor! His phrases are really cute and will surprise unsuspecting guests in your house!
