Holding Onto Summer #Kindermom

It’s August already and we’re holding onto Summer.  I don’t want Summer to end.

I can already feel the temperature getting cooler and I’ve noticed the days already start to get shorter.  Where did Summer go?

I’m enjoying hanging out with Little One, going to the beach after work and savouring every bit of the Summer.

How we’ve been holding onto Summer

We’ve been on road trips, day trips, and all kinds of adventures.  Some of the highlights of our Summer include: Being in Toronto for the beginning of the PanAm Games, Little One taking a kids’ cooking class, multiple day trips to Science North, camping, and so many other fun activities.

Long car rides sometimes call for a little treat…in the form of a much coveted Kinder Surprise (the ones with the Minions, of course)!  Little One has a slight obsession with Kinder Surprise and Minions.

Little One cracks me up with her very imaginative side.  She’ll create full on plays with her Kinder Surprise Minions (complete with voices and sound effects)!  When I look back on Summer of 2015, I noticed that Kinder Surprise has been a large part of our Summer fun. From sharing Kinder Surprise with friends at play dates, to giving some to her cousins, and creating arts and crafts with the Kinder Surprise egg capsules, we’ve had a lot of fun with Kinder!  Over the past few years, I’ve used them as  incentives (one Kinder Surprise at the end of the week if Little One successfully accomplished her tasks) and also as “just because” treats.

We’ve brought Kinder Eggs to parties and shared them during holidays.  Kinder has been playing a fun role in my family’s life and have definitely been part of our celebrating joy, play and childhood.

To be honest, eating the chocolate and playing with the surprise toys inside just brought back smiles and joy of my own childhood — only now I can share the #kindersmiles with my own child. We’ve had so many fun memories for Summer 2015 and with the temperature getting cooler and school starting in just a few weeks, we really are holding onto Summer!

For now, we’ll be going on a few more hiking trips, having a few more play dates and we’ll be heading to the city one more time before school starts.
