It’s true.
My longest relationship is not with my husband.
Hubby and I have been married for eight years and have known each other for ten years. This said, there’s another who had captured my affections long before Hubby. My respect, loyalty and admiration had been gained way back in 2000 and I have never looked back since.
A fifteen year relationship! That is the longest relationship I have been in. We’ve never had an argument, fight or disagreement. I’ve always felt like I meant something and that I wasn’t just a number. I always felt secure in knowing that I would be taken care of.
The relationship has been reciprocal. I’ve never once wanted to break up. In fact, our relationship just keeps getting stronger and stronger as the years go by.
My longest relationship is not with my husband! It’s with TELUS!
When I returned to Canada after working abroad for two years, I was in search of a mobile carrier. I had been working overseas where cell phones were nothing new. In Japan, everyone (including grandmothers and children) seemed to have a cell phone. When I returned to Canada, cell phones were still relatively new. In fact, my first cell phone in Canada was a flip phone and it was so big and bulky compared to my sleek, compact, thin cell phone I used in Japan.
My, how times have changed.
Over the course of the last few years, I’ve been a BlackBerry user. Among my favourite devices are my BlackBerry Q10, Z10, Z30 and Classic. I really loved my Bold 9900 back in the day and now I enjoy using my Passport for work purposes. It’s like having my home office with me at all times. I find that the Passport’s screen size enables me to view my email messages easily as well as work on documents and sheets.
All along, I’ve been faithful to TELUS.
Why have I not sought the open arms of another?
- TELUS understands me. When I have questions or if my needs have changed, TELUS always has my back. Whether it be online support or via telephone, TELUS is quick to answer my questions or help me.
- Part of the TELUS family. I’m excited to announce that I am one of 15 #TeamTELUS advocates from across Canada! However, my relationship with TELUS was sealed when this happened.
The experience showed me how TELUS really does care for their customers. I have been a longstanding vocal supporter before that incident and even more so after.
- TELUS does “social” right. When I peruse my social streams, I always see such positive tweets and posts from TELUS. The way they answer questions online in a transparent way is so refreshing. They are an exemplary model for anyone conducting business online. Also, the fact that they take the time to post shout outs to their fans (who doesn’t love seeing a personalized tweet with an image of those cute TELUS critters, right?) makes them a brand that fans feel a connection with.
Little One ended up having to be air-ambulanced from Manitoulin Island to Sudbury, to CHEO in Ottawa. We were touched that TELUS had us in their thoughts. - TELUS does “social good”. Not only have I been 100% satisfied with the services, packages, products and online customer care I’ve received from TELUS, I’m proud to be affiliated with them because of the social good they do. I cannot tell you how my heart swells or how I weep whenever I see a touching TELUS #GiveWhereYouLive video! “TELUS, it’s in our nature to share” says it all. If I didn’t already feel proud to be a TELUS customer because of the great service I receive, I’m even prouder because I support all their philanthropic initiatives.

I’ve solidified my relationship with TELUS and we’ve made it official. I’m excited to announce that we’ve taken our relationship to the next level and I am an Official TELUS Advocate!
In the next few months, I’ll be talking more about all things TELUS. In the meantime, check out my fellow #TeamTELUS advocates and their blogs!
Is TELUS only in Canada? I’m sad to say that my longest relationship is going on 12 years and it’s with hubby. 🙁 I have had to break up with all relationships that were longer unfortunately (or fortunately depending on who the break up was with!)
It is good to read about things like this, where a company truly values its customers. More power to TELUS and hoping that they would continue to work hand in hand with their customers.
Agreed, 100%, Annemarie!!
I have had my own Telus line since I was 13 and got my own “home phone” in my room (I bet that’s not even a thing anymore). When I got my first cell at 15, it was Telus. I have been with them ever since.
Haha! Randa, I remember how exciting it was to have my own “home phone” in my room! Do you remember being miffed when the call waiting beep came on and you had to hand over the line to your parents or siblings? Oh, to be a teen again! Those were the good ol’ days! First the rotary phone and then the button dial ones. Fun!
Hahaha I was wondering who this relationship was with! You got me! lol My husband is with Telus and quite happy.
Hehe! Liz, several people told me they thought I was writing about my ex-boyfriend (the last one before I got married)! NOPE!!
That is awesome. So nice to hear your relationship with TELUS. I hear so many good things about them.
Yes! Janie, not only are they great telecomms people, but they do social good as well! LOVE!
That’s a fun picture showing how much blackberry has changed over the years! Great to hear of your special relationship with Telus!
Thanks, Stephanie! 🙂
Congrats, Christine! I have long known about your love of Telus and you’ve been vocal about their amazing customer service. That’s one of the reasons I’m thinking of switching to Telus… I’ll keep you posted!
