Family time, sadly enough, is something very scarce over here. The farm demands most of our time, so it leaves very little time to just relax and do things as a family (unless we’re out on the field or in the barn or bush together).
When we received the Paddington Blu-Ray/DVD package, Little One immediately said it was time for “family time”.
I’m sure glad our six year old made that executive decision!
Newly released (on April 28th), Paddington is the an exciting film that every member of the family will enjoy.
From the beloved novels by Michael Bond and producer David Heyman (HARRY POTTER), PADDINGTON tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear (voiced by Ben Whishaw) who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Thank you,” and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.
PADDINGTON is a well-crafted film with lots of humour that all members of the family can appreciate. Little One hasn’t always been able to sit through an entire movie, but was captivated by the talking CGI bear.
Initially, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the movie, but can say that this family comedy is rich, compelling and heartwarming. I know it’s a movie my little one will want to watch over and over.
