It’s the new year and I’ve been thinking of all the great activities to do with Little One to help her learn outside of school. Little One’s teacher has been fabulous to work with and I love that we are in a small community where class sizes are still not as big as in the city. Little One goes to a school that isn’t too large, and I love that.
Little One tells me that learning is fun and in visiting the school, helping out on field trips, and speaking with her teacher, it is quite apparent that the teachers at Little One’s school know the importance of making learning a fun experience.
I have to be honest as a parent here. I’ve been spending many sleepless nights trying to figure out activities tht capture Little One’s interest. EVERY day after school, I work on math, reading and writing with her. Since I was an ESL teacher from 1998-2012 (before I started working in social media), I have a lot of engaging, interactive activities to help Little One learn. You can imagine how stumped I was when I noticed Little One shutting down after only a few minutes of working with her. We have fun and we work on different skills, but she still shuts down after only moments of getting into things.
Though Little One can explain the process of digestion and can tell us what metamorphosis is, and has an extensive vocabulary, getting her to complete tasks on time proves to be a challenge.
This said, if there’s one thing Little One can focus on, it’s Hot Wheels track building!
Hot Wheels® FUNdamentals Learning Program
Not too long ago, I was introduced to a new hot program that is FREE to both parents and teachers.
The Hot Wheels FUNdamentals Learning program is very exciting because it aims to provide parents and teachers with easy-to-implement lesson plans that are built to encourage problem-solving and communications skills among Kindergarten and Grade 1 students. This is perfect for us since Little One is in Grade 1 now.

For parents and teachers who are interested, this new program is guaranteed to rev up the learning experience in both the home and classroom. Little One’s friends all love Hot Wheels, and what kid doesn’t love building their own tracks and racing their cars? It’s no secret that big kids (aka: parents) love it too!
The Hot Wheels® FUNdamentals Learning Program is also PTPA Approved.
Little One and I were in shock when she tore open the parcel that arrived! I was not expecting all the incredible items in the Hot Wheels® FUNdamentals Learning Program (teacher’s kit) we received.
The kit containted:
- 25 Hot Wheel’s
- Hot Wheels track
- DVD Lesson Plans
- Turbo-Charged Challenge Activity Books
- plus $5 off Hot Wheels coupons
You may recall the fun we had building our Ultimate Hot Wheels Track a few months ago. HOURS of fun. Little One didn’t want to put away the track we built. She even suggested we convert one of the rooms in our house into a “dedicated Hot Wheels room”. Yes, those were her words!
Building our Ultimate Hot Wheels Track was fun, but the Hot Wheels FUNdamentals Learning Program kit was also jam packed with great opportunities for kids to get on track with learning through fun. It became a family activity and that’s is something special because as a farming family, we do not get a lot of family time together. With work on the farm, it’s hard for Hubby to get even an hour of quality time just to hang out. Track building and racing Hot Wheels have become something we do as a family.

Even when Little One’s friends are over, we break out the Hot Wheels. Hot Wheels and track building definitely bring both the young and old together. I cannot stress how impressed we are with the Hot Wheels FUNdamental Learning Program kit. It definitely a great way for teachers and parents to put the fun back into learning.
Use the fun of Hot Wheels® toys to get your students on track to learning!
