Dear Little One,
Today you are six.
It s hard to believe that this time six years ago, you entered our lives. It was both the happiest and scariest day of my life. You were supposed to arrive in February, but surprised us by arriving in November! I would have loved it if you stayed put for twelve more weeks!
We went from you being on NG tube and CPAP to finally being able to hold you. We went from worrying whether you would be healthy or have any major health concerns or developmental delays to you climbing all over bookshelves and the piano!
and still do have a deep love for lotions and creams. You make us laugh with all the quirky things you do. Your laugh and your smile are contagious. You have an amazing way of surprising us with your wit. The Wild Kratts and Dinosaur Train sure taught you well.
You do have a stubborn streak (just like your Lola) and you drive me bonkers sometimes, but every day I am thankful that you entered our lives.
Today you are six years old. Today I am thankful for every moment we have with you. I’m thankful for all the hugs and I’m thankful that you ask for snuggle time and family time. I’m thankful that you are starting to help out with chores and that you love being my little sous chef. Today I am also thankful that you are the smart, kind, gentle, sweet, funny, clever, generous, thoughtful child that you are.
We love you very much. Happy Birthday, Little One!
