It was a day that I was dreading. I knew it would come sooner or later. My baby would no longer be a little 5 year old, but a BIG GIRL. Yes. Little One’s 6th birthday was one I was not looking forward to. It meant the end to the “little girl” part of her life and now she would be more grown up. *sniff*
Well, we had to make her 6th birthday party a great one. Where else to have an epic birthday other than Glama Gal Tween Spa in Sudbury?! Also excited to share that Glama Gal Tween Spa in Sudbury is the only spa of its kind in Northern Ontario!
A friend asked me, “Do you have any concerns about exposing her to spa treatment and girly girl activities at her age?”
I was taken aback by the question, because I certainly do not have any reservations or concerns. I think it’s great to be pampered once in a while and I love the positive messaging Glama Gal Tween Spa has for the girls. Be confident. Be positive. Be YOU! There’s also an emphasis on being a good friend, which is something I feel is really important to teach children, tweens and teens.
Little One had been to Glama Gal Tween Spa before, so she had an idea of what was going to take place that day. Her friends, on the other hand, had no idea what awaited them at the spa! To say the girls were thrilled is an understatement!
Everything in the spa is so pretty!
Perfectly Posh Pizza Party!
Upon entering the spa, the girls were each given a fluffy, white robe to wear, as well as some slippers. The girls were excited beyond compare! They were ushered into the party room where a beautiful table was set for Little One’s birthday! Little One opted for the pizza instead of the crepe station. I really thought she’d choose to have fruit crepes, but I should have guessed that Little One would choose pizza!
The girls had a choice of beverages. The Pinkatinis were adorable. Some of the girls opted for the blue one. How special for them that they were given some fancy drinks in fancy glasses!
I admit, having the birthday party at Glama Gal Tween Spa is a lifesaver because I didn’t have to worry about preparing all the food and drinks, or baking the cake and decorating. Okay, okay…the best part was that I didn’t have to have the party in my house! I’m not going to lie. It’s exhausting having to clean before the party, during the party and after the party! At the girls were exceptionally well-behaved and made no mess, by the way!
Little One looked so pleased when her friends sang Happy Birthday to her.
…and, then there was (cup)cake!
Pretty cupcakes were provided, with a special one with a candle for the birthday girl. Again, Glama Gal Tween Spa thinks of every last detail for providing the dream birthday party.
The smiles on the girls’ faces were priceless…and the fun had only just begun!
Manicures and pedicures
The girls got to choose their nail polish colours from the many shades available. The nail polish used was one we use at home because they are non-toxic and “natural as mud”! Piggy Paint is a favourite of ours!
Half of the girls started off with their manicures, while the other half had their pedicures done while enjoying some ice cream! Lucky girls! I wish I had my pedicure done while having ice cream!
Cucumber Facials
The girls got to sit back, close their eyes and have some relaxation and meditation time. They then had cucumber slices to cover their eyes, while receiving a refreshing facial mist.
Karaoke Time!
We got to try out the Karaoke machine. The girls had a lot of fun singing and dancing up a storm! Some of the songs were unfamiliar to them, and not all of the girls could read the lyrics, but it was still heaps of fun! That didn’t stop those dancing machines!!
A perfect, magical day for all!
I don’t know who had more fun: The birthday girl, her friends, or Mom!! Thank you, Glama Gal Tween Spa for providing Little One the most memorable birthday party ever. It really was a dream come true for her and her friends. The party was two weeks ago, and the girls are still talking about how amazing it was!
It melted my heart when Little One gave me a giant hug and said, “Mama, thank you for giving me the BEST, BEST, BEST birthday party ever!”

Same here, Kirsten! I also like not having to clean up before, during and after a party! Is that wrong of me? LOL! The girls were so awesome at Glama Gals! They were really into it!
Wow that party is sure a far cry from the ones we had as kids!! I’ve never seen a place so fun for birthday parties. One of my favorite themes there is the karaoke~ looks like a blast!
Krista, same here! Birthday parties weren’t like this when I was a kid! I remember some parties had clowns and some were held at McD’s.
