Some girl friends and I were chuckling when we took our kids out for a beach day recently. Why? Well, Summer is the time for light, flowy dresses, sleeveless dresses, tank tops, shorts, sandals, pedicures, and gorgeous tresses that look fabulous cascading down your shoulders as you saunter along the beach. Am I right?
We giggled at the sometimes not so glamorous aspect of being busy working moms. Sure, we take the time to take care of ourselves. We go for our style and trims at the hairdresser’s. We keep active and eat healthy. If we’re lucky, there may be a trip to the spa once in a blue moon. However we try to look and feel our best, sometimes things may go awry…like those “Oh, no!” hair moments!
Every woman’s got an “Oh, no!” hair moment
You know what I’m talking about. Imagine being at the beach and noticing that spot on your leg you missed while shaving or *gasp* forgetting to shave *ahem* your bikini line! What about attending a beautiful Summer wedding and posing for a group photo with a picturesque background that screams “this is the perfect Summer wedding!”…and noticing your perfectly coiffed hair is uncooperative, droopy, limp or ruined from the humidity?

My friend and I have beach hair all Summer long, but one of my other friends has naturally wavy and extremely uncooperative hair when humidity hits. She tells me when there’s humidity, her hair has a mind and life of its own! There’s no taming those tresses! Then I had her try Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Waves Enhancer Spray and Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Waves Creme Pomade.
The 7-in-1 wave enhancer spray allows for maximum styling so you can achieve that tousled, beach hair look with ease! After a quick spray, just apply the crème pomade for genius curl control, leaving hair soft, touchable and beautifully defined for up to 24 hours.
After being put to the test, the wave enhancer and creme pomade were given the two thumbs up.
No more Summer hair woes
Back to the story my friends and I were laughing about on the beach. Don’t worry…I was granted permission to post this story, provided that I do not divulge my friend’s name. We were talking about how this particular day was the first time we had gone for an actual swim. It was an extremely long Winter (or so it seemed) and it took Summer a long time to warm up. One of my frienda said she hadn’t shaved her legs all Winter and joked that it was to keep her warm in the cold Winter months! When Summer rolled along and beach time hit, she forgot that she hadn’t shaved her legs, pits, etc. Once at the beach, she became aware of this and now the running joke is that in the Winter she’s a bear. It seemed funny at the time. At least it as just us and the kids. The kids were playing in the sand and it was just four of of us joking around.
This said, an item I think is handy is the Gillette Venus Snap with Embrace. Thinking about your silky smooth legs as you walk on the beach, only to notice you’ve missed a spot? Have no fear. The Gillette Venus Snap with Embrace comes ready to travel with its own portable compact case and Venus Embrace blade cartridge. This mini razor can be tossed in your beach bag, purse, gym bag or suitcase. Also, there’s no need for shave gel. Just a little water, and you’re good to go.

my frizzy hair is my oh no hair moments
My oh no hair moment: I had short hair, and decided that having it crimped for a wedding would be a great idea (I was a teen) my hair stood straight out, msjor frizz! Worst part, my hair wasnt quite long enough to tame in a pony tail!
I always have some kind of “oh no” hair issue! I am constantly missing a patch of hair on my legs. But, also, with my curly hair, I have good days, but more bad days! I usually keep my hair up in a bun so that it won’t frizz out!
It was my only daughter’s wedding and about a month before the wedding I went to get my hair hair trim about an inch and to get the shape of the back fresh looking, my hair was down around my waist. The my hairdresser was away on holidays but the other lady that is always there said she knew how I got it done and said she would do it. OMG she was trying to get the shape and I was turned away from the mirror and before I knew it my hair was just past my shoulders!
Just general summer frizzies, alas.
I have helmet head all summer. Im trying to be a good example and always wear a helmet on my bike but it makes for horrible hair!!!
I was getting my health card picture taken, and I had long bangs that had gotten wet in the rain. I looked like a dog that had just come in out of the rain.
My oh no hair moments always involves greasy hair, even though my hair is clean!
my hair gets frizzy a lot that’s about it!
All summer long I have those moments – super frizz. =(
Victim of hair volumizing like a Chia Pet – when it is humid or if it rains. Spend the morning regiment getting ready for work – shampoo/rinse/condition/ceramic straight iron/hair spray and then to venture into a weekday of the unknown. Then *POOF* mist/rain my hair fluffs and the poodle look returns. Time to wear baseball caps continuously. *Hair Challenged*

One day we took the kids swimming and I had cut my hair stort a week before when I got out if the pool I forgot all about my hair and oh boy it was standing straight up ahhhh
I`m always having Oh, no!” hair moments..right now,it is so humid and frizzy hiar..
going for a beach day and forgetting to shave
A co-worker and myself went to get a perm with the same hairdresser at the same time and we both did not like the matching bad perms and cuts.
I had a OH NO hair moment when I decided to perm my hair! It totally ruined my hair, I would not advise ANYONE to ever perm their straight hair!
I always forget the hairspray on humid days and have an “oh no!” moment when I see my frizzy reflection.
I am always facing hair “oh no” moments as my hair tends to frizz and stops cooperating on a regular basis!
the last wedding the I went to I made a trip to the hairdresser to get it all done up. It was hot, humid and muggy outside. Within an hour of having it done it was all limp and lifeless!
I got a spiral perm that wouldn’t go away. My hair grew and the perm stayed. I ended up with half permed hair and half not before I just got my hair cut short.
That Venus Snap is such a great innovation! I definitely always forget to pack shaving cream when I travel.
I have had lots of oh no hair moments usually involving trying to but my own bangs lol and I once got a color job at the hairdresser where my hair was this red like a clowns red ( was suppposed to be blondish) I had to go back the next day to have it fixed
My “oh no” hair moment was going to the Dr. and not bothering to shave my legs because it was winter and I didn’t think the Dr. would need to look at my legs. Boy was I embarrassed when I had to roll up my pant legs and reveal my hairy legs!
I straighten my hair but I went out for lunch once and it rained unexpectedly so my hair was really frizzy when I came back to work it looked terrible all day!
I let my dad cut my bangs in high school and it was embarrassing! haha
One time I confused sunscreen for hairspray and sprayed it in my hair…what a mess!
My oh-no moments are when I am getting ready to go out and run out of time before I finish curling my hair!
I tried to cut my hair and give myself bangs..
Mine is pretty much every hot humid day when my hair turns into the frizzy monster
My Oh No hair moment is daily right now, I am trying to grow my hair out from being short and it is at the stage where you can not do anything about it other than try to ignore it!
My perm I got in grade 8 was hideous!
LOL! Tanis, I got a perm when I was in grade 7 or 8. What on earth were we thinking? LOL! I looked like a poodle.
I teased it into a beehive for a 60s night at a club once. It was NOT pretty the next day. Poor damaged, broken hair.
I tried to perm my hair once. I looked like a soggy poodle instead of nice flowing curls.
Every time I wash it….
your on a date and it starts to rain, then your hair is soaked and wavy!!!
oh no its got all wet in the rain!
Ah, my first perm…curls way to tight, it was a oh, no, and boohoo moment!
My dreaded oh no hair moments usually come when I really want and need to look my best.My hair is sure to take on a mind of it’s own and look like I just rolled out of bed. It needs some extra care on these days.
My OhNo moment is trying to deal with flat hair before a night out with friends.
for me it is those stubborn leg hairs that are right on the ankle. Then you are all dresses up and you look down and see one big hair that you missed!
