There is a very special place on Manitoulin Island that captures the hearts of those who visit. Kagawong is a stunning jewel nestled between the cliffs of Mudge Bay. The view is spectacular and there are always adventures to be had. Whether it be walk on the trails or a dip in the water, or hanging out at the Bridal Veil Falls and then going to the Chocolate Works for a decadent treat, Kagawong is a favourite destination for locals and tourists alike.
One place I think you should visit when in Kagawong is the Main Street Cafe.
Treat yourself (and your family and friends) to freshly prepared breakfast or lunch! The baked goods are mouthwatering and the soups and sandwiches/wraps are delicious!

Being someone who appreciates international and fusion cuisine (being from an international/fusion background myself), Main Street Cafe quickly became a favourite spot for a tasty meal. I recently had the Thai Coconut Chicken Soup and marveled at the layers of flavour. So delicious! My friend and I shared a Chicken Souvlaki Wrap and again, I was impressed with the flavours! Another friend of ours had the Thai Chili Chicken Wrap (I believe that’s what it was called) and said it was incredibly flavourful and she really enjoyed it.

Though I live on the south end of the Island and it takes about 45 minutes to get to Main Street Cafe, it’s a place that I am happy to drive to on a regular basis! The food is incredible at Main Street Cafe. Located right across the Bridal Veil Falls, it’s the perfect spot for a bite to eat after taking a leisurely walk by the falls.
Cafe inspired breakfasts, hearty soups, and savoury sandwiches await you. Daily specials will be available depending on Chef’s hunger! Catering available for your meeting or workplace or any special celebration. Daily baked treats available in addition to special occasion cakes for order.
I highly recommend trying everything on the menu at Main Street Cafe in Kagawong! I know that’s on our Summer bucket list!

I’m a dessert freak and these look amazing! Thanks for putting the spotlight on your island. I’d never heard of it before, which is kind of sad.

The Chipwiches are amazing too!
KagawongGirl, oh my! I’m going to have to head to Main Street Cafe again sooner than later! 🙂 Perhaps this weekend!
I enjoy popping by your blog Christine! It makes me happy and is always a cheery space. This spot is one I would visit with my kids if I every find myself up in your neck of the woods so to speak. I am actually hungry right now just reading that. Fresh baked goods can be dangerous but every once in awhile – and when on vacation – they are a must!
Paula, please come for a visit! I’ll take you and the kids to Main Street Cafe and then we can check out the falls! 🙂
Randa, I REALLY want you to come visit me!! LOL!
Yum! Such a treat to have a top quality cafe right in the center of town.
Julie: Oh, boy. This may be my new favourite place to grab a bite around here! Everything is so good!
I live just down the street from the Main Street Cafe. The Maple Bacon donut is to die for! I think it’s open from 10 to 2 on Saturday though.
Kagawong Girl: Oh, I am so jealous! You are so lucky to live down the street from Main Street Cafe! I’ll have to try the Maple Bacon donut you speak of!! 😀 Ah…10 to 2 on Saturday? Thanks for the heads up! I just grabbed the hours of operation from their FB page.
On I want that brownie!!! Looks like there are some delicious options on Manitoulin, I really need to plan a visit.
Katie: That brownie was to die for! So moist and decadent! I want to go back and get another!
I want all the desserts. Not even an exaggeration Christine! I have never had Thai Coconut Soup still (I know, I suck) but that looks good. I will have to check it out if I ever get to Ontario (possibly next year – EEE).
