Guess what?
School’s out for Summer!
Living on Manitoulin Island, that means lots of beach and outdoor fun! With lots of beaches in every direction from us, we spend a lot of time outdoors. Little One reminded me that since she’ll be in flip flops and sandals all Summer, she wanted to make sure we had a Mommy/Daughter mani/pedi date…on our patio!
We started by sipping lemonade, soaking our feet in a foot bath and using some homemade foot scrubs I made with just brown sugar. I also have a few scrubs I make with Epsom salt, but Little One wanted the brown sugar foot scrub. We then whipped out her Suncoat Girl for Kids polish and got creative. Little One has Suncoat Girl nail polish in Sparkling Snow, Mermaid Blue, Princess Purple, and Fairy Glitter.
Little One has been obsessed with the movie Frozen since last Winter and when she saw Suncoat Girl’s Sparkling Snow and Mermaid Blue polish, she instantly thought they’d be perfect for her. She also loves all things pink and purple.
I helped her with her pedi. Aren’t those the tiniest feet ever?
Little One wanted to do her own nails, and went for a rainbow theme. She painted each nail a different colour since she had to use all the Suncoat Girl colours! The below photo is Little One’s nails a few days after we painted them. I actually really like the fact that the polish dries quickly and can be removed just by peeling off. Little One was able to remove her nail polish herself (so she could then reapply it herself)!
I remember having peel-off nail polish when I was a little girl!

These pictures are really beautiful! Suncoat sounds like something my sister would love for my nice.
Your girl has grown so much from the last piccies I looked at of her. She’s a beauty!! Just want you to know I’m thinking of you and hoping your ‘journey’ is going ok…
She looks really cute here, I love that adorable flamingo swimsuit!
HollywoodHiccups: Thanks! She actually bought that suit with her own money. I have a SwimZip for her that she uses most of the time. When we were in NYC, she saw the flamingo one and fell in love.
haha I love her little flamingo bathing suit! adorable! those shades of polish are just perfect for summer!
LOL! She’s a total diva, Jennifer! Makes me laugh.
I love that it is water based and easily peels off! I am not sure she will regularly be wearing nail polish anytime soon but now and then as a treat for sure and it is nice to know there are child safe brands out there!
Elizabeth: Yes, I like that it’s water-based too! The easy peel-off is handy as well. Nail polish as a little treat is fun! I know Hubby wouldn’t let Little One wear nail polish when she was little little. She’s five now and once in a while is okay. Hubby was also not pleased I got her ears pierced. He’s okay with it now though.
My little one loves getting her nails done. If only I could get her to stop biting them lol This looks great!
Oh, your little one bites her nails, Gingermommy? My friend’s little one does too. I think I read a post from Shayna (MommyOutside) about Little Miss M biting her nails too? I’ll have to check for the post.
Happy Summer to you and your fam!
Love the colours – love that she can do it herself. Painted nails = summer to me!
So true, Kerrie! Painted nails = Summer!! I like that she can do it herself too! 🙂
So sweet. I too remember the peel off polish from when I was a kiddo. My girls both love the rainbow manicures too!
Happy Summer!
Happy Summer, Shannon! Ha! I’m glad I’m not the only one who remembers peel-off nail polish! I thought I was making myself sound ancient! lol
Aww, your daughter is quite lovely in that beach photo! She is growing up so fast!
Love the idea of the homemade foot scrubs. I need to make that myself as well.
Miss you guys so much!
Ah! Thanks, Canine! We miss you guys too! I wonder when we will see you next? Your last visit was so much fun!!
