Yes, you read correctly. I love my Purolator guy.
Oh, my husband is fully aware. I do not hide things from him.
My Purolator guy visits me several times a week. My five year old daughter and I even bake cookies for him during the holidays.
Why do I love him? For a reason you will not believe. I’m sure you are thinking it’s because he delivers parcels to me on a regular basis, right? Wrong.
This is why I love my Purolator guy…
The other day, he came to my front door filled with genuine concern.
Purolator Guy: Ohhhh! Am I ever happy to see your cat!
Me: Pardon? (pause) Ohhhh! (remembering that there was a squished cat/roadkill on the highway just before our farm — almost directly across our lane)
Purolator Guy: Yes! I was so happy to see your cat come up to me when I pulled into the driveaway. What a relief!
He dropped off a few boxes and on his way out, handed both the cat and the dog a treat each.
That’s why I love my Purolator guy.
*Note – The cat that was run over by a vehicle on the highway was a tom cat (who happened to be a barn cat) from another farm. We have received numerous messages and phone calls from concerned citizens and neighbours. Rest assured, Spike is still alive and still as happy as can be. The tom cat, however, has seen better days. Surprised that our five year old daughter looked at the cat (which was severed into two pieces) and shrugged it off saying, “Oh, well. That’s so sad, but these things happen sometimes.” She’s FIVE!!!*
Aw what a sweet man!
Your Purolator guy sounds like a really good person and I see why you like him. A person who cares for animals usually has a good heart. I don’t believe Little One would have shrugged if it had been your pet cat who was killed. She does seem, though, to be a ca sera, ca sera kind of person at this young age!
Love this! It makes all the difference in the world when someone says a kind word, or makes a caring gesture. I’m glad you love your Purolator guy. 🙂
Lisa, it’s so true! He’s so awesome! Every time he comes by, he always has a treat for the cat and one for the dog! Totally amazing how a simple act of kindness, a smile or a kind word can change the way the rest of your day turns out 🙂
