I don’t know about you, but this Winter has been brutal on my skin. I normally get dry skin in the Winter, but for some reason, this year has been especially hard on my hands (and feet)! I try to keep moisturized, and I make sure to drink lots of water to keep hydrated, but to no avail. My hands have been so awful! My skin is dry, chapped, chaffed and not silky smooth like I’m accustomed to.
I was recently sent some of The Body Shop‘s Hemp Hand Protector. The Hemp Hand Protector is made for VERY DRY SKIN. The moisturizer is made with Community Fair Trade hemp seed oil. The Body Shop’s Community Fair Trade hemp seed oil has a high concentrate of essential fatty acids that help to repair skin’s moisture barrier, so it stays smooth and supple.
I was naturally curious about the hemp seed oil as an ingredient in the moisturizer. I have clothing, bags, pants, paper and other products made of hemp. I’ve been using products that include hemp (textiles/fabrics, paper, etc) ever since my college and university days. A few years ago, I started including hemp seeds and hemp hearts in my diet. I don’t know why, but I hadn’t used creams/moisturizers with hemp seed oil until now.
I applied the Hemp Hand Protector daily for almost two weeks and noticed an improvement in my skin. It did feel more supple and smooth, and I only needed to apply a small amount each time. The Hemp Hand Protector is very effective.
In terms of how it feels, it isn’t greasy and the scent is very natural. It’s not overpowering at all. My only wish is that it came in a MEGA sized container, because this is something I know I’m going to be keeping on hand from now on.
