Little One is a veritable girlie girl. She loves all things blingy, sparkly and pink. She goes to the barn to feed the bull in her puffy tutu and rubber boots.
If you recall, I boycotted pink when Little One was born because I didn’t want her to be under the whole notion that girls are all about princess, frilly things, and pink.
Despite my protests and not introducing her to all that is girlie, she somehow embraced all of those things anyway. She loves Disney princesses, fairies, ballerinas, and PINK!
She also loves digging in the dirt and playing with snails and whatever other bugs she finds in the garden.
Little girls and little boys can do anything and everything they want to do when it comes to establishing their preferences in toys, activities or sports. I think it’s great for boys to play house and play with dolls, just like I think it’s fabulous for girls to play with dirt or play with toy tools. I think it’s wonderful for boys to do ballet and girls to play hockey.

I have three girls in my house so we have a lot of pink… and other colours too. 🙂 My girls like fairies and Dora as well, but they also like riding bikes and swimming and most of their friends happen to be boys (our neighbours all have boys). It’s interesting to see… 🙂

🙂 Aww! Shucks! Thanks for that. In all honesty, I don’t know how we ended up with such a cute kid. No, seriously. No clue.

My 2 younger boys at a few months old crawled right over to cars and started playing with them at a Mommy group where there was all kinds of toys.

I love how you ‘blinged-out’ for first picture. You are so great for details like that. I do not have as courageous daughters. They would not be in the muck and playing with snails. Good for you for teaching her to love nature!

My daughter loves pink and purple and all things girlie. She too will play in the mud in a tutu and rubber boots. She was in love with Cinderella at first glance. She will wear nothing but dresses. Her “big” birthday gift this year was a garage to play with her cars in. I think she’s ok 🙂
RA absolutely ROCKS! 🙂

What a delightful daughter. She is now and can be in the future what ever she wants. Lucky little girl.
Patricia, Sugar & Spice & All Things ? Nice
I could not agree with you more, kids should be allowed to do whatever they like without having to conform to stereotypes. My daughter played hockey and was a catcher for her baseball team and our son has a real artistic flair and had a doll when he was little.

I think kids are just kids. My boys are very into all things “boy”; but would also gladly sit down and have their nails painted, watch tinkerbelle, princess movies and love to dress up in their mama’s clothes/jewelry

That’s so interesting, isn’t it? Funny how they sort of gravitate towards pink!

Ah, I think little girls are born with pink tendencies! My two granddaughters won’t wear any other colour, though the eldest is beginning to think it’s a little babyish for her now she is 9 yrs old!
