My partner and I will be visiting the island this weekend. I read there are many reserves on the island. Do you know anywhere, aside from Great Spirit Circle Trail where we can have an authentic native experience? (ie. going on spirit walks, trying traditional food on the island)
Please add Laurie Graham’s awesome new shop in Kagawong, Mudge Bay Mercantile, near the chocolate shop. Totally fresh, new and awesome, and what the sweet little town of Kagawong needed.
Thanks so much! I will add Mudge Bay Mercantile! I visisted Mudge Bay Mercantile for the first time a few weeks ago and love it!
Makes me want to hop on a plane and go travelling asap!

Great post C! Reminds me of the fun times we had in summer 2010 and last year! We had the greatest time with you and your family on the island! I miss the butter tarts from Mum’s! TC misses the Kicking Mule Ranch! There are so many cool things to see and do in your beautiful island. Thanks for making our trips so memorable!
Our whirl-wind tour last summer was so much fun and adventure. It was a high-light of the summer for both the kids and I.
So, thankful that I got to know you through blogging!
Thanks for all the work you do to promote the Manitoulin Experience Christine, we at Gordon’s Park really appreciate it:) Thanks neighbour, maybe this year we’ll get a pool swim in eh? Terry said our pool was 78 degrees today!

Thanks so much for including those! I will be adding places every Monday for my #ManitoulinSpotlight posts!
Oops, also Rainbow Ridge Golf Course, and Ridges restaurant at the golf course, and green acres offers home cooked meals as well.
I would also add the Bayside Resort in Wikwemikong. And as attractions, Wikwemikong Tourism has hiking trails and campgrounds adjacent to Killarney park. In addition, Kings Bay Beach in Wikwemikong is pretty lovely.
Finally, the new hotel has opened up in Little Current and is available for bookings 🙂
