She’s 5 #WordlessWednesday

Feeling a tad sad.

She’s 5 years old now.

An entire hand old.  Five fingers old.

How did five years whiz by so quickly?

I can’t believe she’s 5 already!

She wanted a Disney Beauty and the Beast party for her 5th Birthday.

This is the cake I made her.

Rainbow vanilla cake with an extra special surprise! Cascading Smarties when the cake was sliced!

  1. Thnx for letting me share our link Christine :) This is my first 1 so if I messed anything up please let me know! Happy Birthday to Rah, her cake looks awesome, I’m sure she felt like a real princess that day :) I know how you feel, our emotions are pulled in so many direction, joy they’re growing up, sadness because they’re growing too fast and happiness because they’re ours :) Our days are approaching when the LO will be starting school, I’m excited for him but at the same time remembering my days of school and worrying about his time will be! It’s never ending for parents ;)

  2. She’s such a cutie! Great job on the cake, and beautiful post in honour of her birthday.

  3. Wow time flies doesn’t it??? Happy birthday to your little one! And great job on the cake!

  4. Awww happy birthday RA we love you. From Chelsea and Sydney

  5. Time flies by so quickly, you need to savour every single moment Christine! My kids are young adults now and I love all that stage brings but I really miss when they were little! Love the cake and your daughter is so beautiful!

  6. Aw. Happy birthday to her!

  7. I know the feeling! My oldest is five and a half now and already planning her sixth birthday party… though I’m not quite as creative in the cake department as you are! :)

  8. I remember when she was born, and you STILL POSTED on your blog for NaBloPoMo. Those posts of your first weeks/months with her in the NICU were truly amazing. I’m so glad you shared that complicated and wonderful and truly horrid time with us.

You know I love you Chrissy, but that is the scariest cake I’ve ever seen. Princesses have smarties under their gowns? Shudder.

    • Hahahaha! I know, right? WHAT was I thinking??!? :p

    • For the record, I really, REALLY missed those days of when blogging was just blogging :( I am trying to make changes on the blog. It’s a work in progress, but my aim is to satisfy both my need for quality content and expression of feelings like when the blog was still new AND being able to still do all I need to do (have some sponsored posts). I cannot believe this is the first Nablopomo I’ve missed!!!!

  9. My baby just turned 5 in August. I keep asking her to stay small but it’s not working. LOL

  10. Happy birthday to you little one! And an awesome cake! Way to go Mom!! :)

  11. Happy Happy Birthday Princess. I mean Little One :)

  12. For some reason I actually thought she was older than that. Maybe she is more grown up than her age suggests. She is always saying such smart and wise and quirky things that I thought she was older. She is a funny girl and that is a fantastic cake. Yum. Also I got your message and yes I would be thrilled to talk any time or add you to my blogger outreach programs. Wink.

    • Awww! Thanks, Paula!!!!

    • Yes! She JUST turned 5 on November 11th! She does sometimes speak like she’s older. Old woman trapped in a pint sized body.

  13. Awww happy birthday to your beautiful girl!! What a great cake you made’re such an awesome mama :)

    • Thanks so much, Brandi! I try, yet it doesn’t always seem I’m such an awesome mama! LOL!

  14. Happy Birthday!

    • Thank you, Randa! Don’t know why, but this one has been the toughest birthday by far! What is it with “5″? :( lol

  15. So sweet; I can understand feeling a bit sad! LOVE that cake, Christine, you did an AMAZING job!

    • Ahhh! Thanks so much, Kat! :) You’re awesome! xo

  16. What an AMAZING cake to celebrate a HUGE milestone!!! HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY sweet little mama!!!

    • She was so pleased :) I don’t know if I’ll be going all out again next year! LOL!

  17. Happy Birthday to your little cutie!

    • Thanks, Olivia! I never knew what people meant when they said “Enjoy them while they’re young because they grow up too fast”. Kids really do grow up too quickly :( How is she 5 already?!?
